“As a child I got to know the bassoon through Peter and the Wolf. The grumpy grandfather was always muttering. That´s how I see it, the muttering bassoon with a twist of humour.”
“Words are important to me. I use the sounds they are made of and I use them to structure the work. I found an analog in social media. I am making fun of the way people mutter, murmur, chat and bicker.”

mutter (murmur, chat, bicker) is some kind of a monologue. The bassoonist mutters, murmurs, chats and bickers. Not necessarily with others, maybe just with himself and even not in the same order as here above. The piece was written in the autumn of 2015 at the request of Kristín Mjöll.
